Founded in 1996 by Rick Huffman, Earth Design has grown into one of the Upstate’s leading landscape architecture and environmental design/build firm. Earth Design took the leadership and began to demonstrate innovative ways to handle run off, erosion control, habitat restoration and ecologically diverse landscapes with native plants based upon natural plant community models.
Education has been a key component of the Earth Design success story. Our philosophy is that education leads to an understanding of our natural world and our role within it, and the understanding thereof brings awareness, our awareness to appreciation transforms into love for our planet and our wonderful native plants that grace our lives with little or no care. As Earth Design began to grow into more complex projects and gained influence within the community, our reputation for delivering solid service with attention to detail has grown as well.
